Joseph Chmura is a Research and Instruction Librarian at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, firmly convinced of the small liberal arts college education’s long term value, and happy with its mission. He earned his MLS from Syracuse University.
Joseph hopes to work in close consultation with faculty in developing student outcomes and generating ongoing post-class contact with students and their research. He shares developing interest on campus in flipped learning/classrooms. Some approaches have involved:
- Group work
- Seminar model discussion
- Role of new language in developing research topics
- Pre-class discussion/other contact with students
