What is Mindfulness?

According to the Mayo Clinic, mindfulness is a "type of meditation in which Grounding with Your Five Senses Graphic: Count 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can tasteyou focus on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment."

Examples of mindful practices include:

  • meditation
  • yoga
  • mindful eating
  • mindful breathing
  • mindful walking
