HOW TO | ACCESS THE NEW YORK TIMES


HWS students, faculty, and staff have complimentary access to The New York Times at https://www.nytimes.com.

New users of the Colleges' academic pass should follow the instructions below to set up their access. Note that faculty and staff accounts will need to be re-authenticated for ongoing access on a regular basis.

Register for Access to The New York Times

  1. For first time setup, be sure you are on campus and connected to 'HWS-Private' WIFI.
  2. Navigate to accessnyt.com
  3. Search for and click on the listing for -- Hobart and William Smith Colleges - Geneva, NY

Please note:

  • If you have previously registered your email address on The New York Times site, you will click the "Already have an account?" "Log in here" link (below the "Create Account" button).
  • Existing paid New York Times subscribers must cancel their paid subscription before authenticating via the school funded program.
  • Once registered, students will have access until December 31st of the graduation year they choose, and faculty/staff will have 4 years of access, after which they must re-authenticate by visiting accessnyt.com.
