How To: Access The New York Times


HWS students, faculty, and staff have complimentary access to The New York Times at

New users of the Colleges' academic pass should follow the instructions below to set up their access. Note that faculty and staff accounts will need to be re-authenticated for ongoing access on a regular basis.

Register for Access to The New York Times

  1. For first time setup, be sure you are on campus and connected to 'HWS-Private' WIFI.

Please note:

  • If you have previously registered your email address on The New York Times site, you will click the "Already have an account?" "Log in here" link (below the "Create Account" button).
  • Existing paid New York Times subscribers must cancel their paid subscription before authenticating via the school funded program.
  • Once registered, students will have access until December 31st of the graduation year they choose, and faculty/staff will have 4 years of access, after which they must re-authenticate by visiting
