Explore More Faculty Services

This guide provides an introduction for new and current faculty to the services available in the Warren Hunting Smith Library.

Literature Searches

The librarians are happy to perform literature searches on your behalf on a case by case basis.  Ideally, we would like to consult with you to establish the parameters of your search, your timeline, and your preferred delivery mechanism.  If you are a Zotero user, you may also choose to do collaborative searches with us by adding us to your Zotero group.

Faculty Carrels

Carrels are available for faculty conducting scholarly research and who require ease of access to Library resources. These private carrels, many with windows, are fully wireless and provide secure storage. Guidelines for the assignment of faculty carrels can be found in the Faculty Handbook.

Purchase Requests

The Library is able to procure resources on your behalf on a case by case basis, with the priority being the facilitation of teaching and research. The Library does not provide textbook materials.  Please read through our Guide to Collections and Services before making a purchase request.

Specialized Instruction

At times, the research process may require access to specific specialized resources, such as data sets, image collections, video material, and the like.  The librarians are happy to work with you to locate and access materials that will further your endeavors.  Please don't hesitate to reach out to us or make a research consultation.
